I just slammed shut my note book and text books and decided it was time to do a little writting.
But where do i start? as per usual, it certainly has been ages!

Politics? friendship? PMC? ENT? Exams? My housemates? Road trips? seriously, Where?

Harimau Malaya! Come on! lets try get as close as we can to the World Cup!

If i were a much frequent writer, this would certainly not be a problem. But where do we medical students find time? I Seriously Dont Know.

The days and hours seem to pass by very fast, certainly either with studying or by making every second count in either laying back and relaxing or going all out to celebrate those minutes.
I am certainly impressed with myself on how i have managed to cope this far. Stress peaks for us very frequently, but then again, we just have the ability to shut stress and have a good laugh or a small dinner with a few pals. We dont have to try, it is always Quality time spent- wisely.

Im currently on ENT rotation, for 2 weeks of which one has passed and guess what folks? we only do 2 weeks in ENT in our 5 years in Medicine! same goes to ophthalmology (eyes)! Suprising right? but thats a fact here, and to stuff a whole ENT book into the tiny little space on the top of the head, will certainly prove
to be a task

Medical school life has certainly gotten much more interesting since we entered the clinical phase, but it certainly questions your knowledge, you feel smart at certain days and utterly stupid at some days. Long taxing hours and the whole of medicine to be learnt progressively over weeks/ months to come.
I noticed your groupmates (small groups of 6 to 10 students) really make a difference. If everyone is 200 percent enthusiastic i think most will burn out eventually, and if everyone are slackers, we dont learn anything, but to have a mix is just the best. The funny things that happens in and around the wards with my groupmates have been epic thus far. Each day never fails to give you a good laugh, may it be at 8-still-waking-up-a.m. or 12.30pm after numerous scoldings by lecturers.
Jokers we may be, but we never fail to stick out for each other.

I could not have asked for better housemates certainly, the amount of laughter that goes around the house is just unbelievable. Not everyone have the chemistry of just being able to sit down for hours and hours just talking on non-sensicle things may it be aliens or ghosts or cars or just rubbish. No matter the topic, a good laugh is guaranteed.

I somehow like the conversion from being active in societies in ireland to just chilling and having fun with friends here in Penang. Both have their own benefits in their own ways. Life is too good and i certainly hope it stays the same way. :)

Brother has got a job, which i believe he is enjoying. Certainly a new step in life, im sure he will enjoy every bit of it. All the best to him! Remember, always plug the power cable in before you try to fix a computer. :)

I am certainly exhausted after a tiring long week, but theres more to come certainly in weeks ahead, this is the life we are training to become. Intensive training certainly, but with the passion and love for it you will adapt perfectly fine with the hospital environment and the busy lifestyle.

Surround yourself with people whom seem to light up your life with smiles and laughter, it gets the stress away.

WELCOME TO THE NEWLY REVAMPED BLOG!!! :D

Hope you guys like it, and i hope to keep it updated as much as i can as well.

Worked on this blog for about 8 hours and its now 5.10 am fixing glitches and making parts look better, of course the templates not mine but there were a lot of fixing to be done to suite my blog and interests.
Hope its worth it.

Changes you may obviously see are the wordings and that introduce my blog along with the "About Me" section which has finally been changed after 2.5 years.

Gadget Changes:
Features that i like is the My Favourite Pages, My Facebook, My Twitter tabs. Another cool feature i think is the Photos Slider that i can use to share my life in pictures with everyone and even better still this photos can also be inserted with links of my featured posts from this same blog or from a different site (i will make use of this in time to come and for now will be just a few pictures to brighten up the blog).
The Chat box and blog roll remains and i've decided to add Polls, may it be biweekly or whenever i just feel like it.
Also new to the blog are the "Popular Posts" and "page views" (at the bottom of the page)
Im using a different twitter for blogspot compared to last time as i think this looks better.
Besides all this, i've also changed a significant bit on the posting, obviously the "Reaction" part at the end of each post, and also the "share" for each post may it be facebook, twitter or others.
I've also limited it to 2 posts per page and added a Recent Post category for those looking for quick reads on interesting topics to them.
The biggest loss is the music, wanted to keep it simple and possible for anyone to read the blog from wherever they are regardless of their internet speed.

I intended the change to be simple and fun with a touch of professionalism and with loads of vibrant colours while at the same time getting all my thoughts across to the readers clearly and easily with minimum hassle and glitches in navigation.

Im excited about this new blog, hope you are! Its 5.30am as i finish this post, good night world!

Feeling really "bleah..." at the moment, guess its the studying thats exhausting the brain. And thought i'd drop a short post here to let everyone know that i hope to get the blog back to its previous glory very soon with updates going back for 6 months etc.

The latest update is that i'll be home on Feb 21st, experiencing 33 degrees celcius and hot tropical weather.

Its freezing cold here, and its not stopped snowing in a week! Heavy too! its like walking on 7/11 slurpee all around dublin. Just that its not green but brown. With just discovering that both pair of shoes i own having a hole each on the right pair freezes the toes as you stamp into puddles of water and then ice. Fingers cannot even write in the library cause its frozen!

Studyings been hard and intense which im happy off, but theres a long way to go. I shall strive hard to achieve the goals i've set. I miss my H1s! time to work smarter and harder, with gods grace i shall. :)

I'm Embarrased.

Either that i have never been this embarrassed before, or I've not been put in such great position of responsibility over a society aspiring to be the society of the year.

For someone who keeps promoting Malaysia and our culture, i just took one great blow in front of a small crowd of leaders and friends.

I'm embarrassed, it might have been the childish side of those responsible or it could have been the alcohol or maybe even the exam stress.

Somehow i saw all eyes falling on those around me and then eventually onto me ending with a frown.

At such a grand event where the Vice Dean of the college was present, its really sad to see such things, never mind the crowd size.
Words spread, fast.

Its even harder when some of it is from those whom you're just so close to you cant say "No" or "enough".
Some may not be from your society, which makes it worse, you have No rights to say No.
I really thought you guys would understand your position and mine too...

I don't know about you guys, but certainly as president of a prestiged society, which has been built to this level thanks to all our efforts and our predecessors most importantly, this is just unacceptable.
Its ok to take, take as much as you want, but do it gracefully.

I'm sorry for not saying the right things. Actions i needed to take, i didn't. Which is my fault, my embarrassment was my own fault. I should have done something, not just sit and stare. I've learnt alot today... i hope you all will too.. that's all i hope for.

If you realise what I'm saying, then work harder with me to bring this society to greater heights and make up for this.

And to my predecessors and beloved members, I'm sorry for this.

This may be an over blown picture in your eyes, but to be one of the 13 ambassadors a society of 300 members, one that has one third of the student unions yearly financial budget, one that is highly respected by all other societies, one that was specially granted 25 seats for an event, one that can get whatever we wish from college done, to be of such a great society, its hard to take for me.. to be leading it, you imagine.

I'm Embarrassed.

PS: I'm a social drinker, but ever wondered why i don't drink in events of such? or at most just a glass or two? give it a thought.

PS2: Dashing over 10 metres to get 4 cans of beer and to dash back and stuff it in your bag, and give some to the ladies, and to do it a few times somemore, sorry i just dont find it cool, nor macho.

Influenced by songs.... Spent the whole night catching up on all the english songs i failed to discover in the year or so.. :(

This is proving to certainly be a tough sem. Im almost always in the library... come home everynight and watch a movie online then hit the bed. Thats my routine so far and so it shall be for the next few weeks to go. One more month plus left till exams, and everyones going crazy here! sigh, RCSI...

Though i am most certainly enjoying studying these stuff, very interesting, its what i submitted my medical school application for! "Why is it this disease and not that?" Hmmm, since he has this, this, that, and this, that means he should have THAT!, No?! no wait, but hes results show this, this and that! hmmm, tough tough"

Yes, thats hell loads to remember! As an aspiring to be doctor, i always wondered as an immature high school teen, how do the doctors actually remember alllll the diseases and signs and symptoms and all???!!!
wellllll........ guess what? i've gotten my answer... The Hard Way! Memory Memory and More Memory! Everything.

A random thought i had in the library, why would they Not invent a computerised systems for doctors, where by they see the symptoms that the patient has, and then the signs they examined, and then the lab results, and wala, Bang! you have the Diagnosis, or atleast a Differential Diagnosis? (a few possible outcomes) no? Afterall, all the information is in our lecture notes online already, whats hard in copy paste into the "system"? Makes doctors lives much less stressed? lesser errors? afterall there is always a high percent of error in all human work. And computers are very much reliable now right?? Hmmm... Food for thought, though im sure its already been thought about. Bro, take note? work on it? haha :p

On a side note, I Let go a 65 euro college ball, was just a tad too expensive i guess.

Whatelse i've not posted.. hmmm. AH! RCSI International Night 2010. We didnt win it, but my personal opinion i think we put a show good enough to win ANY International Night. Still, not too sure what the judges were looking for. Oh Well, To me, We're still winners at our hearts, the bonds that were formed during practices and rehearsals will sail through for a life time, i know it :) Love you guys, ALL!

Just felt like blogging. Now in 2 weeks, we have learnt 25 lectures approx with the WHOLE FREAKING basics of pathology and microbiology!! gosh,. thats loads!!! :( and each lecture was given in an one hour class, and it has 60 slides!

So yes, that has been life so far... lately i'd say i've been emotionally fragile, just get emo or upset over the slightest thing. god knows whats wrong with me. But oh well, im recovering. realised theres no point really, emotional distress or upset is the least i can afford now. Each time, i just end up going to sleep or wasting my hours stonning, or doing something that does not involve studying. sigh. oh well :)

Anyways, Happy CNY my loves and Happy V Day to all! and dear parents, HAPPY BELATED ANNIVERSARY!!!! :)

and dear paru, im sorry i missed your bday.... Im really really sorry my dear sister... will make it up to you soon. Hugs sorry! :(

CNY and Hospitals

Sooooooo Yes, Hospitals have started and Chinese New Year is up ahead.

So in true Malaysian Spirit, HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR TO ALL!!!!!!!!
Chinese or not chinese, to me, being malaysian, its all the same. Have a great holiday to everyone!

And now, to what i've been up to. Now, studying in Beaumont Hospital which is in the outskirts of Dublin and i travel 1.5 hours daily two ways including waiting time. I have to say, i find this whole new concept and semester fun. Dressing up formal, attending interesting lectures, spending time in a nice small cosy library, walking down the hospital corridors at night feeling good after a productive day, getting onto an empty bus reaching home at 10.30 having proper dinner, then continue studying or head to bed. Its a pretty nice thing.
Come friday, you just feel soo relaxed.

Though, we have moved from a 30 slide lecture to a 60 slide lectures. STILL in the same one hour period for a lecture!! Talk about twice the work load! gosh.

So far its been so fun and interesting. Looking forward to another great week! Loving it!

Tomorrow, PMCSA RCSI is organising a Chinese New Year Lunch with a crowd of 160 people, and tickets are sold out. Full house! :) I am really really excited for that...

A New and revamped blog!!!
...to take the more buisness, simple, clean look :) Trying to get some stuff still sorted with this template, so please do bare a little with the minor errors here and there. Been working on this for days now. Finally, its up :)

Tomorrow i start studying in Hospital. From tomorrow on, its all in hospitals...
I quote a senior friend of mine:

On a another note, its gonna be (already is) sad to see all the seniors you were close with leave for Penang PMC. Most of them have already left as of today morning, some still remain, but will also soon leave.

Hospital starts tomorrow, My Sem 4 in Med School, The REAL thing. And need to wakey wakey at 6 am tmrw!!! gosh, thats 6 hours earlier then my normal wake up time. sigh!

Hope everyone is fine, and doing just great!

im back! haha. yeah. this is a post to share my disappointment or whatever you call.

Ok heres the thing, i officially slept for 17 hours. Yes, SEVENTEEEEEEEN!!!!!!!!!!!

Dont ask, but yeah, 17!!!!!! SEVENTEEENENENENENENENE!!! TUJUH BELAS!!! gosh.

so yes, i slept from 8 am to 1pm. i supposed to have gone at 8 to the train station to check out something for our europe trip..... BUT... my close eyes for 10 mins before leaving, never really happened la. So yes, woke up at 6 thanks to a wake up call. But then, i decided to sleep and hence just correct my nocturnal mode to the more normal mode which means stay awake at day and sleep at night. so i knew i had to sleep till late night/early morning, then i can run the whole next day awake and tada back to a normal more humanly mode rather then an owls one.

so yes, im awake and blogging at 7 am. Yeap supposed to be studying, but i tght i would need a post to teach myself something and also to share a lesson.

A day ago (two days) i had my first out of the two written papers, called Neuroscience (NS). I tell you!! thats the worst paper i've sitten for in a quite a while, No, not that i wasnt prepared enough, but just that, my brain did not work as it should. From the gan i knew once to be intelligent and confident, both of tht was really tested in this exam. Not only tested but also results were shown in this exam. The test, a moderate question paper which didnt give all of us much time to answer the questions. So the tester being- Shortness of time. And guess what, i got the results of my actions then itself.
The lack of time aggravated all that i feared, and i just, simply, blanked out in the exam.
All that i feared,not being able to think straight, (due to no sleep before the exam, hence brain could not reorganise and pack information) not being able to recall stuff (cause i panicked hours before the exam cause i tght i couldnt finish revising in time) hands trembelling, and yeah, all this were aggravated by the short of time. I Just Blanked Out. After a few minutes things started slowly getting back to me. But, unfortunately not all came back cause as time progressed in the exam, i just got more worried. Even for the stuff i knew, i didnt put it down in the Gan Way. It was kinda messy i guess cause i feared for the time.

Why all this happened? because one simple reason, i used to sleep in the morning/afternoon and study all night long. Yes, i did get my 8 hours here and there, but it was the wrong hours. And before the exam weeks i tried correcting myself, BUT, it never really happened. as i had 2 choices to correct myself:
1. Sleep early even if i woke up in the evening, and waste that one solid day
2. Sleep The next day night only after going through a lil bit of a challenge/torture staying awake and save that one day.

Gan being gan, chose option Two ofcourse. but ALWAYS failed to correct it. So his timing always became worse, and started sleeping at different hours everyday. Naps never were naps. It always became sleeps. And to the extent that i felt sleepy twice a day, once in the morning and once at night no matter what time i woke up. Which kinda sucks because you cant concentrate. So when i realised lack of concentration, i choose to believe in red bull, but red bull just made things temporarily better. Yes it did help me focus then and study hard, but as we reached nearer to the exam itself, the after effects of red bull kicked in- mental exhaustion. And that was the day of my NS exam. I knew my brain was already tired.... it just went into lazy mode, but i was wide awake.

So guys, thats how i screwed up my exam. Im just talking about short notes, MCQ paper went well enough i certainly hope. It made you think, but good enough i hope. My dreams for this exams all shattered right there and then. What i wanted i know, is kinda like impossible now.... but im not gonna complain, i learnt ALOT out of this. Rather now, then later in hospital years.... even now it should go fine, but i could have done better, after all i was never as ready as this before the exam weeks for this paper. I was ever so ready after one reading, all i needed to do was look through it all before the exam, and there is where i failed because i took things for granted and dozed off one afternoon and then as i woke up, i knew i had only one day left, and according to my maths, at the rate i go, i needed 23 hours to cover everything one more time. Which is kinda impossible out of the 24 hours left before the exams.

So yes, the irony of this exam was that, i was never alike prepared for my previous papers, BUT YET, i screwed up the short notes like never before. (well in relation to how much i was prepared la). I was really really disappointed with myself like NEVER BEFORE after the paper itself. Well i was not prepared in the anatomy bit as i overlooked it a little, and that added to the stress before the exam as i had to go through it before the exam. oh well.

So yes, with all the mental tiredness, i've slept for 17 hours today and should be back to normal timing soon. And then my circadian rhythm should be back to normal, and then my hormone levels will be back to normal and brain functioning at a normal state already before my last paper.

So now its to studying, and i have a point to prove to myself now. HERE I COME PIH/EBH!!!! (Population and International Health and Evidence Based Health)

And dear mum,
This is to you:
Seriously, dont worry so much about what i just wrote, im Totally fine. You and dad raised me like this, which is to be independent, im not like many of the other people where if things go wrong i come to you mum and dad. But, this is how you raised me to be, to always think and lift myself up when im down, and this is how you should leave me to be.
There is no point in worrying about me now and flocking me with all those lovey dovey emails and skypes and msns. I'M FINE! (though yes, i do occasionally like to read those, helps a little nevertheless. But dont worry!!!!)
I treasure my ability to pick myself up, analyze and work to improve, which is certainly thanks to you and dad. The below is to the both of you:

Where did all the fun go?!

Okay, today christmas just passed.

Managed to catch a movie with my immediate family here in dublin after MUCH MUCH delays from a few of the members! *cough evelyn cough* We watched Yes Man at 11pm... it was a nice movie night i must say. And i dont know whether this is a sign or something (i just read yuns blog on Sign From God kinda thing), Hers was body shop sale, mine is something..er.. not shopping related... lol.

I just feel like i've lost the fun in life. All soo tied up, stressed out, up tight.... Came back from the movie, read a few blogs, which further was like a sign to me... Then facebooked a little, and got more signs...

Then i spent some time alone reflecting. The only thing i've been doing is either college work or studying or thinking about studying. Yes, i did go to edinburgh for 3 days, but like, shouldnt fun be consistent?? not a great break and then great work again right?

Today was christmas, and what did i do? i just locked myself up whole day studying... Well, might not have been very productive, but all i did was study. How sad can i be? If not for melissa, i would have been just at home studying more. :( I turned down a Christmas party invite earlier in the week thinking that thats not what i need now, as a party will consume too much of my energy and i'll loose focus and the slow momentum i've gained studying. See! my thoughts were to that extent! This CAN NOT last! this sucks!

Some of my friends went for a movie today after the party, which come to think of it, i considered joining in, but the sole reason, studies made me not succumb to the temptation.

I've also realised i've not been able to spend quality time with my friends back at home, and also here in dublin itself.

And the only thing i can recall thinking off in the past few weeks/month is study and work. my edinburgh trip, manchester trip, london trip, all does NOT come into mind at all. I wonder why... Work overload? worries? maybe. Im anticipating more work, hence preparing to make full use of the time i have now studying...

There is sooo much i would have done if it was the older gan, i turned down soo many events and outings, technically- FUN! i turned down fun. Day and night work or study.

hmmm, and i also realised that my blog is more like a journal and diary. I suddenly seem soooo tight up, like the guy who follows the one straight line and is not willing to deviate even a bit off it - Geek. I cant blog with humor anymore, im so stressed out that its all serious journal like. No emotional additions and feelings to the posts... they're all like.... newspapers?

Where did all the fun go? And yun's christmas card (which was very sweet of her) contained the word president. A further sign? Has my election as president taken out all the fun?? Sucked it all out? Or is this just exam period?? or am i just sick of the work that needs to be done for the society? -that just keeps coming! And im constantly thinking on what work is there to anticipate to not falter in exams, see! more thoughts on work!

Where did all the fun go?!

And my highlight of the day was THIS:

Presented an interactive talk to the kids on Malaysia, Healthy Diet, Hygiene, and Culture as "medical doctors"

I love them, These were year 1 and 2 kids. Meaning about 6-7 years old ones.

I THINK they loved the 3 of us, but i SURELY fell in love with them. Here i come Paedssssssssss! ;)

My beloved pencil case...

Okay, ive lost my pencil case. no not today, but as of last wednesday that is!

I dont know why, i dont feel like feeling sad. I am, but i think im trying to push the thoughts away...

Its my Pencil case!!!! Had it since secondary School, through A Levels and First Med :(
I think i dropped it in the bus... sigh, i dont think its worth feeling sad, cos i've lost it.
but yet again i just think that theres soo much in my head now that the least i can worry about now is my lost pencil case. sigh.

Sides that, wat i've been up to? Busy as a bee... Realised i dont really have much time off by myself. Need to be doing this.
And im loaded with project works from boring articles research to something new like early patient contact. and also have one of the biggest event for the malaysians at rcsi coming up- PMC Farewell..
Loads of things going around me... And i thank god i have the support, energy and stamina to pull through all this. Thank You!

What if there were no computers?

As i do my project work past the wee hours of the morning (3.15am), i just had a random thought, how would it be like if we didnt have computers and laptops...

1. No internet, need library, need to read TEXT books to do project, cant do last minute work because libraries close at 11pm and open at 8am only.
2. No music to keep you going for Long Hours,
3. No friends to chat with to keep you company.
4. No entertaintment breaks such as youtube, facebook, blogging (like what im doing now!), twitter, etc.
5. Cannot multitask, cant do emails, and project at the same time.
6. A Very painful wrist, tubes of liquid paper used up

And this is just for One Night! Just for the Project...

Sigh, Thank God for it! we have become so dependent on this electronically advanced metal box.

Dear Friends,
Salam Sejathera! A very Good Day! Da jia hao! Nal Valzhtukal!

My name is Ganesan Palaniappan and i will be running for Presidency in the current ongoing PMCSA RCSI 2009/10 Elections.
I certainly do hope to get your support for the elections in the form of your vote.

You may have read my personal statement, so this is going to be a little more different. But i assure you, the below are the highlights of my Visions:
1. To integrate Everyone together, PMCSA IS FOR ALL!!!! MARA, JPA, Self Sponsored, Internationals! All!!!
2. To start off bonding works with PMCSA UCD and take it seriously.

Ok, the bulk of the questions i have been getting is "HOW?" im going to carry out my term.

First of all, i am going to continue the Rebranding of our PMCSA RCSI. Started by Mehul, and carried out in two phases. He wishes to have both his phases continue on parallelly and with me being on the same outgoing committee (team) as him, i assure you i share the same visions as him. I also do urge you to share the same trust in me that you did with him and his top committees, i need all your Full Support with me as well.

Secondly, in continuation to Mehul's Plans, i will next carry out steps to COMPLEMENT the plan. My Plans will revolve around 2 things which have not been stressed on yet:
1. Education (Freshers Guide to RCSI Galaxy was the idea i initiated and i was also the PMCSA Project Manager for the IMAM-PMCSA Clinical Case Comp.)
2. Sports

Ofcourse, i will also continue to enhance all the plans that have already been set up by the previous committee.

In the previous active term, we have been greatly involved with welfare of the members, and its about time to step it up to achieve more as a student family. I also believe that Sports and Education can further integrate all members of the societies as - Sports and Education is a mutual language to all. I wish not to bore you with minute details of the above plans, but certainly, if you would like to know, do feel free to contact me.

And to some who might have misunderstood my intentions to run as a team, i would like to highlight the points below:

1. I want people who have FULL commitment and share the same VISIONS as me (mentioned above). Some people just talk a lot for the sake of getting the post prior to the elections. But then after the elections their flame to work for the society dies off.
I assure you this will NOT happen to the people on my team, as i have already obtained their promised words and enthusiasm.
2. To bring out potentially talented student leaders who are not aware of PMCSA (and the fact that it is open for all).
3. I am not asking you to vote blindly for those on my team, instead i am just highlighting the names for you. These are the people whom i personally think are as dedicated as i am and i strongly urge you to certainly consider them. Do enquire on them, and if you think you share the same views as me, do vote for them.
4. Im NOT SAYING that "i do not wish to work with the people whom are not in my Team". Honestly speaking, all those running for elections this time are all equally talented people. ALL! As a future student leader, i would like to stress that i am willing to work with anyone!

On a personal Note:
It would be my ultimate goal to place PMCSA on the Society of The Year Board in college. I really hope i do gain your support and trust in achieving this.
And next of all, is to integrate everyone. If you have not realised this, my team consists of all races and represents all groups equally, from self sponsored, to MARA, and to JPA. This i hope will portray my visions in integration. 1 Malaysia.

My very first house, And its AWESOME. I sooo love my place!! sooo sooooo! For a very very good price too!! And this is what i've been spending my time settling in, and getting used too. From going to ikea, to just sitting down at home and studying just to get used to it. I soo love it. No Complaints WhatSoEver!

An Apartment with 2 bedrooms, one single, one double, in the City Centre, off Liffey River, with an open lot at the side for loads of sunlight,

Living. I have the two best landlords in the world to my opinion. They are very nice, very! VERY! And the Husband is reaching the fatherly role to us now, hes just soo nice. (he came over and the 3 of us fixed up the washing machine and a broken pipe together, and spent hours on it too!)

Journey To Dublin, 3 Days 2 Nights

And so i've spent 5 working days here, but 7 days off home, yes people, i actually spent 2 days on travelling- From Malaysia to Dublin; in all modes of transport, Air, Land and Sea. Yes. Indeed so,
Sea. 14.5 hours of Air Asia X which i must say was a pretty decent flight, with great food.
Land by 8 hours.
Sea by 4 hours.
In between all this, i had a 14 hour stop over in total.
And i put up in an airport for a night.
Had Krispy Kreme in Stanstead for Breakfast and brought some back for my Dubliners

And this time around it was indeed tough to say Good Bye to family... Harder then the first time i left. Because a year ago, i was just this little boy who had not explored a new country with a different culture, neither had lived completely on his own hence being very adventurous and not thinking back about family and friends at home.

But this time around, it was indeed different. Very. it was certainly hard to say goodbye to Dad, Mom, and Bro. gosh im going to miss them and the comfort of home with everything being taken care off, friends that i can meet anytime i want, those whom are willing to come get you out and go for a drink with just 5 mins prior notice, to those who take you for a 1 hour ride to KL on a late night just to go for a drink and come home doing crazy stuff....

Welcome to Stansted Airport

I had a 16 hour plus transit at Stansted Airport, from 11.30pm to 4.15pm. And i set up my own Work Station, only thing lacking was an Internet Connection. Sigh, there wasnt any free internet.

Yeap, i took over their Pay and Use Internet Computer space...hehe

People were picking their spots...

And so did i... gosh, it was damn hard man! to put the laptop bag under my head, an arm hugging my hand carry, and another one over the check in bag and also my legs agains the trolley as i had put one euro in it to use it!! Oh well, it was one heck of an experience. I was woken up by the morning crowd buzz at 5.30 and the airport was sooo packed! I thought it was 8.30 or something, but then was shocked to see it was just 5.30.

So, after realizing that it was just 5.30am, i knew that i just had more time to kill. sigh, so i went for breakfast at...

... so yes, it was breakfast! haha. oooh soo nice! and i decided to pack back for my fellow dubliners awaiting me :) hehe.

2 hours of breakfasting, with just 3 doughnuts.. and alot of People Watching.

My Land Journey... 9 hours including an one hour stopover :

Bus Leg Room

The bus i took this time around to dublin went through the country side all the way to Port Hollyhead. A very relaxing and a pleasant journey indeed. I went through many small towns, like coventry, birmingham and many more i just cant remember the name.

Birmingham 1.5 hour stopover to change bus. As i was heading to Dublin and not wolverhampton as where the bus i was on previously was heading for.

Now, To the Ship (cruise). My Sea Part of the Journey to dublin:

3 hours of nap before arriving in dublin

Destination: Busaras Eireann (Dublin Central Bus Stop)

Time: 6.30am

Energy Level: 10 %

Excitment Level: 110 %

For the first few days here, i certainly felt that i missed home. Really, i did. The ones here didnt seem like the ones home.. they seemed different somehow even though they were also the ones i loved. and i didnt have much internet access. And then when i actually got internet access, i was busy finding houses on the net. Yes, thats what i've been busy with in the past 4 days. hence, you may have seen me online, but trust me, thats just because its on auto sign in. I was always on the phone making appointments to view houses or on the net finding for houses. From 9 am to 7pm daily. Then dinner till 9pm with friends then call it a night, all tired of walking (gosh i miss my car!!!).

So yes, that has been my week. If all is good, i should be finalizing my house soon. Reached a verdict with my housemate. A few more calls, and god willing that would be my best place/option. Once i settle in, you all should be hearing more from me, and also a post on how my summer break went! cant wait! :)

haha, nah, trying to get the immunization for Hep B as im soon to be in the Allied Health field... Forced into my strong deltoid muscles the weakened evil Viruses... which i must say is a lil sore now.. "Abduction" is proving to be a little tough... (oooo, i love the medical terms!!! hehehe)

PS: this is my 5th jab, 2nd booster. So, i really hope i achieve the Reactive status for Hep B Antigen...

Yes guys, today i went for the ever so dreaded Long Sleeve Shirt Shopping round 2 at SOGO again, with parents this time around. (though, sogo was super duper super packed as it was the Fasting month and it was a saturday, anyways, it did not dampen my military spirits) Ill have to say there were about 30 designer brands for formal clothing, and i tried about 25 of them in the two trips. Yes, unfortunately, thats what ive gotta do. I need alot of things to go right, or atleast the best they can be for me.

Me: Excuse me there, can i know whether all your cuttings are the same?
Sales girl: No sir, we have 2 cutting. Slim Fit and Regular Fit.
Me: okay, so can i try both? XL please?
Sales girl: *brings me both*

Me: ok, is it okay i take these with me, as i try it with other brands of shirts as well? in the next counter area?
Sales girl: *gives a look* Yes sir, sure, but do bring them back here. Thank you.
Me: * Repeats the whole process another 3 more counters*

Me: *tries a shirt and shows it off to parents and repeats this for another 5 times as i have that many in the changing room, end up hogging a room for about 20 minutes while some other customers wait for the room outside staring at me*

As i said there were about 30 brands, so had to repeat that until i covered as many counters as i could, so the whole cycle repeats about 5 times.

After seeing which the best fit is, i need to test my memory and see which were the ones that fitted me best, second best and so forth. And finally going back to these counters and picking a design/ colour, if they dont have anything nice or decent, sigh, move on to the second choice...

Ive always gotten my Special Occasion shirts in any one of the Jusco Malls, but this time around i ended up sogo as i explored it on my own a few days back and already tried about 10 counters.

Tips to those whom are tall and thin:

(Usually Slim Fit, but at times, Regular Fit of the smaller size fits well too.)

Valentino Rudy's Semi Fit is an Awesome Fit for me!!!!!! You should have seen my celebratory dance in the changing room once i put it on! i didnt expect such a perfect fit. As though it was tailored for me! the shoulder, perfect; the sleeve, oh so perfect and long, (my arms at 27 inches long, Smart Master only had 25 inches max in their ready-made Shirts) the tailors in the past never managed to give me a slim look, this was perfect! Match Made in Heaven....owh....Valentino Rudy........... *blushes*

Somehow the other, i liked shopping for Shirts... Formal Shirts...Maybe its because i get to see myself looking smart in the miror.. ooolala, good day!

PS: if i havent gotten the point through yet....... Valentino Rudy!!!!!!!!!! YEA YEA YEA! :D hehe.. pretty cheap too thanks to the Sale! :)

H1N1 and its funny side...

So today i went on a mini excursion alone, from mines to midvalley to sogo...

From MidValley to sogo, being lazy to swerve past the malaysian lunch time traffic in KL, i decided to take the KTM, afterall, MV and Sogo have good KTM access.

I had to stand as i didnt get a seat as i entered in midvalley station which is not suprising for the Rawang bound KTMs.... So i noticed, about half the commuters in the train were wearing masks, and the atmosphere was sooo tense that no one was talking, there were no babies on the trains, in short it was just sooo dull... like seriously dull. Then i had a mischevious though, i was soooooooo tempted to just start coughing abruptly for about 20 seconds and suck up the mucus in my nostrills as loud as i could and disgustingly, as i was very sure, half the train would get out in the next stop if not all and poof i get 4 seats to myself...!! I think even some people would actually pull the emergency break and jump off the train man! lol, i mean like seriously, everyone in there was soooo paranoid with this H1N1 thingy. Even if i were to clear my throat, im sure id make heads turn.

I agree you have to take precautions and stuff, but i just find this a little hilarious. The weird ways these humans act under such a disease... Anyways, glad to see people actually wearing masks and i cant wait to get out of the country just because of this H1N1 thingy... its getting real bad now.

Once i was on a Normal Common Flu, i went to see the doc just to get well asap as i would be leaving soon, and oh boy, never have i seen the clinic That packed before!!! it took me 1 hour to see the doc, usually at max 20 mins. Everyone was there, from a mild cold, to a mild cough, to a simple sore throat! Everyone!!!!! (good money for the docs though) Sigh the effects of H1N1 isnt just health damaging, mentally too i guess, infact worse on the mental state then physical.. People get sooo scared that it could be "You Know What"...

However being a medical student loads of people have asked me on H1N1 and stuff ( i've just finished 1/5th of my course guys! a lil tooo early to ask! however knowing that id get questions on them, i initially did a little research) So yes, these virus is not very deadly. Its just deadly to those people with an Underlying disease or has very bad health conditions. It does spread fast, but with early detection, and a drug called Tamiflu, you're cured for sure in a few days. However do not ignore the fact that a high fever could also be dengue and not H1N1.

However, the scariest part is where the government actually call up the people positive for it and get to know who they have met in the past week and get down their contact details.... Thats about it i guess, because of you, those other people also have to run tests and self quarantine for a week missing work or school. Work, yeah sure, i dont mind, but school?? hmmm, i wouldnt want to...

Chilling Falls!

So yeah, went to Chilling Falls near Kuala Kubu Bharu, KKB.
With Eu Jhin and his 2 IMU (or soon to be) friends.

Eu Jhin, Reviek, Chris, Myself... 4 Medical students... on a road trip, had to be fun right? indeed it was. A total change of our nerdy surrounding...

Breakfast at KKB to get the energy for the hike... Cheap and good!

Oh boy, i tell you it was soooooo nice!!! the feeling of walking in a tropical rain forest with high humidity, wet ground, 6 river crossings from shallow to deep ones, to the short sharp trees and plants scratching and brushing, climbing over tree stumps, and crawling under fallen trees, to jumping puddles of mud, swimming, diving... and the scenery as a whole...Awesome!

I havent done Anything like this in the past 10 months. A Refresher it was, felt soo good after that. Oooh, i sooo missed Nature being in a concrete jungle seeing nothing but buildings and owh, not to forget medical school notes... Thank you EU JHIN!!!!!

Gearing up to head up... to the falls.

Seal our bags valuables we had to as we were going through 6 river crossings Up, and then 6 again, Down. That was really fun!

The sight of the awaited waterfall. Ive seen better, but this was worth it for the hike we had up... I expected the fall to be bigger, but im not complaining, it was great!

Here is where we all, and i really mean "ALL" almost drowned!!! We went into the CHILLING cold water, Reviek tried swimming on his own to see why he cant seem to float (buoyancy), then he lost it for a bit, then Chris went to help him out, but he himself is such a small size, so he was being dragged to drown himself, and finally to get out he pushed reviek as reflex and moved out from drown zone. Then Eu jhin went to help reviek as he now was drowning, and reviek pulled him in too, and then eu jhin grabbed me as a reflex by the shoulder and i couldnt help pull the 3 of us up, so i was sinking tooo. Until when eu jhin said, RELAX! then all of us floated up... lol.

Quite eventful. All 3 of us could be under the water now actually... lol. The best part, we didnt really cry for help, so no one came to help us. they tght we were playing or something i guess.

So after a swim, we went to eat what we brought there, I made Breadrolls (well, mum made (karipap like)) but i take credit for bringing. Lol. And then, we had Pringles, and 7Up Revive... That was a light lunch, very light.

Sat down a while while enjoying the nature from a rock which to us is the Best Seat in the House, and then in a small stream nearby.

Then headed back into the falls, now to dive! Yeap! climmed up the slippery rocks and Dived in. Awesome! Cut my toe in the process too... Oh well, hikes always toughen you up, the more the scars, the tougher you're said to be...Works In life too eh? ;)

Packed up and headed down... another hour plus hike down now...

River Crossing One, The shallowest... This is after coming down... OFF TO LUNCH! At KKB again.

Toweled down, And then back to PJ with the Help of Revieks Garmin (GPS). Which proved to be soooo helpful man... SOOO!!!

Headed home and went out with Eu Jhin and Reviek for an Italian Dinner he said it was good, Pizza Bella Italian i think it was called. I had a light dinner, and then headed back home dead Tired... DEAD TIRED!

All in all, a great trip, and no regrets. Would certainly go for another one! ;)

Owh darnit, Im back from Bali, and what am i doing? still under self Quarantine. Anyways! no more time to waste, time to go all out with the holidays! Its soo hard to lay low when i know im soo near to all of you guys but yet, wanna stay indoors for a few days.

ANYWAYS! Now, its over, Time to fly out, like a free bird. Do all that i want! It starts tmrw! Hopefully by going out with bro. Hopefully, if hes free. Then on, all the way. Need to spice up the holidays. Been too much at home thinking and emo-ing a lil. Time to move on. Life needs to be lived.

And joe is coming back tmrw! That should mark my kajang niggas (including white assed ones) reuniting. Mamaks, futsal, outings, soo looking forward to.

A levels peeps, most of you on holiday! im coming out to get ya! Not on holiday? who cares. still lets go out!!!

Dance practice still goes on, but thats another side story which is more of a hangout time rather than an excruciating practice.

It a plan of my familys to make sure i spend time with them too and not keep going out to meet friends i suppose.. lol. a good plan indeed.

I Never Left Home

Its been a few days since ive been home, but seriously, sorry, ive been laying low lately. Recovering from my jet lag, which took me 3 days because i havent really slept well. and im sleeping in the wee hours of the morning. 2am? at times. but mostly, 3 or 4am.

Things ive missed,
Watching music videos late night downstairs, while studying (though, now no more studying la)
Laying on my bed doing nothing
Going around the house seeing how things work and learn all the functions of the latest gadget additions in the house
Miss being served food to drink and no laundry to do.

Seriously, thats all i've missed.
To me, its like i've never left. Never. strangely, when i had first sight of mum and bro, it was like, they still look the same, dad too, the car i came back in looked the same, the streets looked the same, wasnt craving for any food at all suddenly (after all the groaning about this food and that dessert and that restaurant and bla bla. funny eh.) nothing seemed to be different...

Ive seen a few ppl so far, and i owe an appology to someone, i promised to have seen you first, but i failed. sorry... i blame the jet lag.. :( sorry my dear.
Seeing the ppl i've seen is so fun... Thats the best part of being home, reviving all the fun moments we had together is awesome!

Ive been really tired lately, so i havent had the chance to call or chat with anyone... sorry guys. Will come to life soon. Soon. And then will ring you up. (only seen about 10 ppl so far since landing. so no worries, i havent forgotten you, just that im kinda down and tired at the moment and been busy with dance practices for a cultural night which is not too long away...)

The hardest thing to adapt to- Humidity of this Equatorial Tropical Country. The hot air makes it hard to breathe, i become short of breath easily. Sides that, i've been fine. Ofcourse, ive sweat like nuts already. Not as hot as i imaigined a few days ago id say. but still, HOT!

Done my room rearrangements, and enjoyed my no spring but fully cotton bed.

Though, havent had the chance to savour the holiday. been in and out in the past 2 days. Busy again. sigh. i want my holiday!!! The i dont have to do anything holiday... :) soon i guess.

and so i sat down, not knowing what to blog about, but knowing that i needed to.
and tried, and tried, and tried... nothing. Well, you already know that im having fun, already know that im relaxing, already know that im packing and shifting house (twitter) and you already know im coming back. What can i post on... hmmm...

does going to Jameson Irish Whiskey factory today count?? well, thats a good idea, but hmm... no no... i cant, the pictures are all with jeffrey... hmm...

what else... i have yun and evelyn back from spain and germany. But somehow, im still seeming to be playing and hanging out with the guys more... Not entirely sure what the girls are up to. All busy relaxing i guess.

im missing darren, joey and cat already... Spent too much time in their places of late. Should have refrained. Joey's had a haircut, and darren slept 8 hours in a "sleepover" a friend organised Hence being the one that actually understood the meaning of SLEEP and OVER (sleep) and meow meow, reached HK to go out eat and then sleep. Boring. :P

i showed eu jhin my room, and he went "dei! you leaving in a freaking hotel ar? why got pictures all one?" then i told him how much it cost, and he went "dude, i can rent 3 apartments near IMU!" Guys, dublin isnt one of the cities in the world with the highest living expenditures for nothing you know... we have black holes as pockets. Its That bad.
And he knows hell lot of ppl that melissa knows too! and he knows Jeff! wth! small world...

went to the park at 8PM with the sun still bright out shining, to enjoy my burger king with ken. it was beautiful, just that i forgot to wear proper attire. Do it, but never go in shorts and a 100 holed t-shirt as a top and hit the park. Macho-ness doesnt really last long at times you know. Theres only a short period where i can pull it through. Then i melt.

i had a hot pot today. a small one again. got stuffed and in the shower, i noticed that i have a belly. oh dear, i soo gotta go to the gym. thats not good. All the weight i shed, im putting it back on, but at the wrong place. Sigh!

Ive started playing Football Manager.
Playing counter strike abit too often now.
About to enter the realms of SWAT 4 and DOTA (if ken succeds to convert me)

realised if i changed all my coins, i can get 21 euros!!! haha! :D MONEY!

Post exams...

Life can not be any better at this point.
This is already proving to be my best holidays so far, baring in mind that im just 2 days into a 4 month long holiday. The feeling is just great.

the library's front desk, loaded with good luck signs,
i found it to be very nice of them. :)

To have slaughted and worked soo hard for the exams, super hard, the hardest ive worked to date infact, going through torture over and over again, waking up to be subjected to the pain of sleepiness and knowing that the whole routine repeats in 24 hours as i wake up at 5 am after going to bed at 4am, hourly naps every 4 hours to keep the brain alive and going, is just too much to bare with.

And now, to sleep in to 12pm, under the sun as i love doing at home, to wake up and have the luxury of snoozing at 9 am, knowing that i dont have 4 lectures to be done in the next hour, nor having the guilt of an underproductive day where ive just done 4 out of the targeted 8 lectures the previous night, but instead to wake up and feel the summer hot sun on my skin, waking up to peace, of mind and physiq, to be able to pull up the blinds and stand for a few minutes stoning while admiring the weather, thinking that theres nothing to do, no books nor notes lying around the place over my bed, table, window panel, knowing that my day is not going to be another routined cycle i just completed a few hours ago as i went to bed, is simply magnificient. Who needs alcohol or drugs when you can get a 50x more stronger ecstasy feel after just by working hard through exams and then getting a break, a well deserved one too.

well deserved i say because i know how much i've put in into this exams, i just pray that my effort pays off in 11 days time when the results are released. Previously, i used to not know what day or what date it was, and i still dont know, both for different reasons. A week ago, my mental calander worked by 8 lectures today, 9 lectures tmrw, 7 the next.....Full revision the final day and then the next day is exams, i used to keep the lectures to mark dates in my mind to lead to the exams, but now, i dont care what day or date it is, because i know theres still long time to go before i head home, and all i have to do now is just chill and break the routine in life, go for the extreme, explore what life has to offer, spend alone time, and savour the 4 months i have...

Time has flewn, little can i realise that it has been Nine Long Months of 30 days average each, its hard to say ive left home that long, it still seems like it was last week i hugged paul, eu jhin, kah tuck, family and answered my farewell calls. But now, this whole hugging thing is gonna repeat, but now, as i touch down... time has flewn. Ive completed my first year. wow, i cant believe that myself. 1/5 just flew past That fast, im sure the remaining 4 will be likewise as well.

For now, life is like, (to sum it up in short). To do whatever i feel like doing, whatever. I wanna go to the park, off i go, wanna go shopping, off i go, but before i leave, i feel like having a nap, so i do, on my way to buy dinner, i see a friend, and just go help him move house, and once i get there, i can just waste the hours away chilling with him, wanna chat with friends from home, so i do, wanna cook, so i do, wanna sleep an extra 4 hours, so i do. My will power and brain control is taking a well deserved vacation itself. Discipline goes out the window, i follow what my feelings says. It works on its own. People say, you control your feelings and dont let your feelings control you, but, i dont think its exactly true. You gotta live life to how its meant to be lived- Enjoyed and savoured. If you're gonna be controlling every aspect of it, you dont get fun, you get prison and a boring life. Go out of the way, let your feelings lead you, and you'd never enjoy life anymore better.

This holidays is already planning to be just that. So i shall live my next 4 months, do as i wish, no one controls me, not even my brains. I really sense my brain is taking its holiday of its own, i barely use it now, just to come up with humour jokes or minor stuff. But, i really feel lightheaded, NO, not due to alcohol but to the ease in stress, pressure and work.

But asusual, the learning continues... as of now, things i wanna work on,
improving brain power, stamina, focus, discipline in studying, and on ways not to loose momentum. I also need to work on the not sleeping more than 3 hours unwritten rule before each exam, this is not how i want to do my exams. I wanna enjoy it too... Not suffer pain by lack of sleep, but instead to enjoy it. As i have always done... I need to come up with a way before my JC3 (next sem) exams on how im gonna get the sleep in before each paper. This cant go on for 4 more years...
That was just an insight to my dear friends whom have ever so frequently asked how do i manage to perform in exams. Guys, its not about before the exams that matters the most, its working on it after your exams that counts. Learn from what was a mistake and improve on what could have been better. Come up with a plan before the new semester, plan for it during the holidays with your own sweet time and leave it all to god as the semester starts and execute the plan, if things are going wrong, dont worry, try your best to save the plunge to limit damage, but if you cant, no worries, just learn it on after the exam wave passes by.
If you actually read all the way to here, you're awesome. And i love you for it.

PS: i dont know why, yiyun texted me from manchester at 12pm asking me the boundaries of the Anatomical Snuff box... The muscles. Hmm, i wonder what is she up to in Manchester? Revising? whatever it is, shes got loads of explaining to do when she gets back, for sure.

This sem is bound to grant me better grades (thank god for it), but im sure, it doesnt stop here. The journey up hill continues, and i already have the perfect plan on improving. Waiting for the next sem to come.

Success is addictive, and i haven't had the euphoria i would have wished to achieve in quite some time... Soon i hope it will be it... For now, its constant hardwork to end the week on a high note.

Clinical Competencies (OSCE)- Fun Stuff!

Okay, i have a thing called Clinical Competencies Module. And it deserves its own post, Certainly.
So, here it is, a part i really enjoy in my Wonderful college, RCSI.

We practice our Clinical Competencies (OSCE) module together. CC is where we learn on taking the patients History and also doing practicals. As in Real Doc stuff guys... everything from, as from the stuff a doc questions you on as you enter a clinic to the physical examinations that are run in hospitals, Everything.

Of Main:
Cardiovascular System (listening to the heart etc)
Respiratory System (listening to the lung etc)
Gastrointestinal System (finding an enlarged liver, spleen, kideny etc)

The boys,
Darren Chew- The Secretary as well as the one who drives us forward in progress. Has occasional "i-like-feeling-myself-when-im-topless-moments" too.

Elijah Khoo- The guy who loves to "feeeel" us, and loves to just lie down and be our patient. Wishes to do Rectal Examination one fine day, but very eager to do one on us for now...

Ken Wai- The lazy one who takes "akward" positions on the bed trying to palpate(feel) the chest and etc and also goes "arghh...my patient is tooo sexy!! cannot take it anymore!!"

Seniors i would like to thank at most,
Jeffrey Lee- He encouraged us very hard to start pratices early and do it everyday. we may have not started early, but we certainly did everyday once we started. Thanks for all your teachings jeff, seriously, we could not appreciate you more. Sorry if we bugged you a little too much though. Thank you Jeff...

Mehul Kumar- The one who thought us the most in the shortest time and made sure we were competent enough to meet his standards. You were kind enough to offer us your time with attending to our questions through phone calls too... Thank you for that wonderful 2 hours you spent with us after a tiring day at hospital and while you yourself needing to catch up with your studies. Thank You Mehul...

If not for Jeffrey and Mehul, i dont think we would have made it to even Decently perform in the OSCEs today... Surely, we would have Failed. Im sure... Its not easy stuff guys, its pretty hard, and to be competent at it, its a whole different thing from learning. They made sure we were.

Chilling out in the park with our Burger Kings after a hectic week of exams and intensive studying... Studied all different wavelengths, from Physiology to Microscopic slides(Histology) to bullshitting techniques (Human Behavioural Science, HBS- i.e Psychology) to practical doctor stuff ( CC- OSCE). I think these switch in brain modes drained me out, Totally. Im konked out tired, i fall to bed and sleep within seconds... It was literally torture to be awake to realise that you still feel like sleeping, cos you still have to go on studying... and when you're THAT sleepy, its Real torture...REAL... Phew, glad im half way through.
Certainly though, in 4 years, as i graduate, this is what it is going to be, day in, day out.

CC Mates we call ourselves, more of family i'd say. We were real intense, every night, for 2 solid hours we'd practice and have fun, which is certainly the most important after a long day of boring notes on physiology and biochemistry etc.

This Picture is going to go a Looooooooong Way.... The Future doctors im working with now. Cultivating all our practical skills both, With and On each other. My very first patients and my very first teachers and colleagues too- My brothers for sure.

Its summer here my dears, and im sitting in my room with the blinds shut, studying as i dont want to see what im missing outside my room, the beautiul weather... oooh.

My very First dance on stage.. No Wait! Second! i vaguely remember doing something in Penang Where i did my nursery and something. I remember putting on make up and dressing up in pink/red... Have to ask parents to confirm though..
hmmm... oh well, atleast im sure this is one of my first. :)

I had the centre stage? oh no... i guess i didnt know the significance of it when i was small.. hmm...

ahh one of the bangra moves in my international night 09 dance had a simillar move. lets see who can tell me where and when. Hint, its after an "Explosion/Breakaway/Split".

I had to go 3 rounds around the girl with the red scarf. come on! how much can a 6 year old take right?! Hence i...er....rrr... Slipped... :( But it was more of a trip, nothing much, but i can still clearly remember that. though, i blame the white socks *points to the white socks*
owh not to forget that i had to accurately place the scarf on my 'dance partners' neck after doing 3 rounds at the young age of Six. Its like asking a drunkard to be spun 5 times, then asking to walk in a straight line and then touch the tip of the police officers pinky finger with eyes closed. Dear Lord, IMPOSSIBLE!

Tomorrow is the day i loose it, Again.
The day where i'll be reminded of Autumn,

Alive and Well report

A good day it was, A friday, had cardsigning in the middle of the day, so the first half was all studying and being nervous. But then, the second half- Fun and Relaxing. Came home, internet a little, put clothes for laundry and got it done, dried properly, had a last minute Hot Pot Session with a few mates, and then now blogging.

Its been a while i've blogged. The last was the stream of posts i came up with. So hence the title of this post. Moreover, theres not One Title that could fit all the contents below, so i've come up with Subtitles as you read along! :)

In Choronological order:

An inspiring comment from Examiner
Cardsigning (CS), was 4th person to go, a girl before me just nicked an A, the previous two got Bs, pressure building, being more nervous, but yet again, faith and confidence growing in contrast and eventually out weighing the sweat inducing feel. My turn came... Stood forward forward for examination, it went.... .
So yes, after examining, Prof. Guiney goes "you did pretty well, very well actually, you got almost everything correct, good job, good, i give you a A, very well deserved" *looks honestly impressed*
Hmmm, when i reread the above quote, it doesn't sound special, but after my exam, to hear That from him, in his own tone, was something special indeed, after all the hard work and fear.
Back to reality, the reason i say this is inspiring because, i was like kinda getting scared that the way i studied for this CS exam would let me down as I changed, i didnt make my own notes, and the lecture notes for the Upper Limb is very very disorganised, had 4 lecturers giving 6 lectures, imgaine that. But eventually, when i did my Little bit of notes, all gelled, very well.
Now, am having the confidence to study for Finals the way i usually do, at my own pace, regardless of how fast or well others are studying and that im to have faith that He would not let me down if i work hard and Smart.
Need my cool and calmness back, and i think ive achived it.

A Done and Dusted Human Behavourial Science, HBS Group Project
(This was submitted on Wednesday actually, nothing to do with my this "Friday post", but oh well, for the pictures this is in)
It was indeed a pleasure working with all of you, nice getting to know you if i dont already know you. It was kinda fun working with my team, loads of fun moments, laughter, enjoyed working with them. Hopefully the project turns out well. *fingers crossed*

No problems with change for laundry machine, no problem with drying, no need to walk up and down soo many times, didnt forget to not wash anything. Need i say more? No.

A nice relaxing time with friends here after a hectic week(s)
After CS, we thought we'd do something nice, Hot Pot it was. A guys night out chilling, Had Jeffrey, Ken, Tyson, and myself. (darren and elijah were supposed to have joined us...sigh) Wan Lin popped by from library as jeff invited, but then it was too attractive to hang out with us rather then hit back to the books, so she stayed till the end.
It was kinda like last minute, so oh well, we had a nice relaxing time. Spent hours just chit chatting. True Honest Friends they are. It was nice laying back with them.
My first Official Hot Pot according to jeff, so it is i guess. It was great, and filling.

For a last minute, this is pretty good in my opinon. A nice meal it was. :)

Feeling refreshed.
After long days, i finally have time to spare, a night off, after all the Hot Pot cleaning, had a shower and voila, im blogging.

Exams Soon.
Exams start May 25th and finish June 5th. Its gonna be back to hardcore tomorrow onwards. 3 weeks left only. Self Isolation. Confine myself within the same old 4 walls again either at home, or Library.
So yeah guys, wont be blogging often anymore i guess.

Well today was not one of the BEST days ive had, but certainly an averagely- good-one. ;)

A treasure hunt to a pot luck, Lucky You.

Today was YiYuns bday! Yeah, sorry yiyun, i could not help but posting up a post specially for your birthday. Because i'm very proud that all the plans worked out and that my cooking wasnt too bad either and obviously because youre just a great friend. :)

Yeap, Yiyun, whom im sure had a memorable bday! shed not forgive us for embarrasing her infront of the Dublin public on a Friday (most happening) evening. We made her do a treasure hunt, with 4 stations, putting up make up on her, no, not for the better, but for the worse and then handing out her next clue.

and so it was, she was looking great, she had to flirt with the library receptionist, eat a flower petal infront of strangers, sing the national anthem with an irish flag painted wig, run around the park, do things in the gym with her "beautiful" make up, run around college looking like a clown, take pictures with the taekwando team, use a dustbin to help her camwhore and bake a fantastically delicious brownie (which was soooooo nice of her). as i said yi yun, dont wait for your bday to bake us a brownie, we dont mind it at anytime wan!!
Such a thoughtful friend deserves a post in my opinion.

moving on to her actual birthday, we had a pot luck dinner for her, and it turned out to be a better hit in terms of food compared to our previous christmas pot luck. such good chefs we have here in dublin. :)

At 12 am we had the chocolate strawberry cheese cake a group of them made. The night before, I went over for "entertaintment" purposes for them whom were making the cake (according to jian gang). It was jian gangs reciepe, and i saw the cake come to the magnificient taste and look it carried. wonderful. tasted to me just like the tesco cheese cake i buy back at home.

FINAL PRODUCT: Chocolate Strawberry Cheese Cake

From sushi, to chicken curry, to banana cake, to Oriental Supreme Imperial Chicken Nge (formerly known as Chicken Nge by Rachel Nge) to korean kimchi, to veges, to bak kut teh, to my own indian deserts and catherines red bean dessert.

Yes mum, i made two indian dishes for this times pot luck, and since they had soo much meat, i opted for desserts. I made Gulab Jamun (in lay mans term, wheat ball in sugar syrup) and Payasam(a kind of liquid sweet dessert with sago and vermicelli)! can you believe me? i bet not! And i must say, i beat you to it! FLAT! There! you wait, your son is gonna come home and start teaching You! and maybe, even grandmother too!! hehe.
okay okay, i honestly felt it was really good. One of the bests ive ever tasted (dont say im boasting or what, cos i really felt that way). And also i made it to suite my taste, less stuff in the payasam and more sago. :) (or it may just be that it was my craving for indian food that made it taste soo good to me)

Gulab Jamun
It grew in size, i didnt expect it to. :) My first time on both dishes. Had a tough time making this... THIS wasnt easy...

it took me 2 solid hours to buy the stuff and make them, i was on a splitting headache then, and being in Millin house, theres only one basement kitchen for the 25 of us, so i had to lug everything down the stairs, and run up and down for about 20 times atleast to get stuff here and then. With the splitting headache too! Yun, seriously, if it wasnt your birthday, i would have just given up on trying to make the gulab jamun as it turned out to be, and i would have gone to bed while skipping the payasam... im being real honest there. And im glad you could try it, you nearly lost the gulab jamun there. Thankfully you did try it earlier.

Brotherhood and My Roots

If i was to miss my 1.5 years bond, what more my 14 years bond? and some even up to 21 years and some even waaay more than that. Doing the maths there? surprised that im just 20 and some of my bonds stretch longer than 21 years?

yeap, i knew some of them mutually through my mothers womb. :) i have 3 of them, my mum knew my soon to be best friends mums and they were quite close themselves which i am to add delivered the 4 childs around the same time (just a few months apart or even days!), hence thats what i mean by bonds that stretch more than 21 years.

and in no way my 7 year old till now friends i'll forget. They are equally important and meaningful themselves.

Yes, guys, you all know who you are. My Boys, my Homies, My True Brotherhood, my Roots, My boys from Kajang. All of you, Joe, Nick, Daryl, Mark, Shashi, Chee Seong, John, Weng Chiew.

Guys, i can talk paragraphs on each one of you, you all are just the best. In my opinion, we complete each other in our brotherhood clan. Im glad to have all of you, i havent spoken much to all of you to be honest, but you all are busy too, hence i dont take the blame all by myself! i cant wait for summer, to meet you guys. Hope everyones doing well if not great...

I didnt intentionally not chat with you guys as much as i would have loved to, its my msn, it gives me probs, and im sure you guys understand that med school isnt sparing much time for me to chat, with all this time difference and stuff.

Amongst us, im the 2nd to leave the country after Joe, but now Netto is coming over to UK end of 2010!!! its a long time away, but i still cant wait to get him in UK! and im sure from now to end of 2010, time will flyyyyyyyy, just like how it has.

But for now, i cant wait to meet up with you guys soon... Miss all of you.

Honestly speaking guys, PD was fun, exciting and relaxing, infact, even more than my trip to Paris! You guys just simply awesomly rock.

I think that concludes my brotherhood posts. Two posts, two group of ppl who have shaped me besides my family. The ones who have impacted me the most, and that i miss now.
Disappointed not to have such a brotherhood here, but if this is the circumstances, i shall live up to lifes challenges and grow to be one who is more independent.

Brotherhood in HELP UNI COLLEGE (A Levels)

Little did i realize, i've been full of Dublin till i almost forgot all those at home (sorry, this was unconsciously done, sincere apologies if you think likewise too).

One obvious thing i miss from home, is our Brotherhood we had. There are not many guys here in the first place, and even if there are, most of them are just not like You guys. All Superbly nice guys here, but they dont bring the most out of me somehow. Somethings lacking which i most certainly had it with you all.

Now, This post is dedicated to all those at home. More specifically to those in college, HELP UNI COLL - A49 (B) first.
To those who dont know where i did my A Levels, i did it here. Yeap, but let me just remind you that A Levels isnt Underground. We have a nicely poised 11 story building overlooking the rich man land of Bangsar/Damansara.

Only did i realize about this unconscious act of mine after reading a blog of my friends, my brother-from-another-mother. (Yeah, we got this tag off Rush Hour i think? haha, and just like in the movie, one is yellow, one is brown)
So firstly, its to you my brother from another mother. DEI! Miss you loads! how the heck have you been!! we have barely chatted, which i know you know too! but i kinda like understood that you were busy, firstly with teaching kids, then with CF, and thirdly, now, with "UNI". I have been good man. Been ages, but as you said, its almost a year, and id be home soon classifying myself then as a Second med student and no longer First. Senior to you too dude! :P
Do you actually think i wont give you a call when i get back? i will drive INTO your house/UNI and DRAG you out to hang out if i have to!
Lol, You just watch MU win the UCL k, and then you can cry. :) Premier league, we're still ahead, we see how things turn out at the end. I will be back after that, then we see who wheres Whos Jersey... hehe. :P
I've been good dude, hope you're well too. Hows progress with the person with the name of an adult kitten? hehe. I think you know where im going... Almost done with an year too havent you. and dei, we seriously better make a trip out this time! it was sad to hear your trip in jan didnt work out... :( oh well, i think you guys are not meant to go, Without Me! hehe.

But no news about you? the last i heard from Pui Ling, you did some good deeds with a puppy eh, soo nice of you man. Thankfully the puppy didnt die with your DRIVING! as though driving like an ambulance. :P Hows Uni for you man? Havent spoken to you too busy man. and you dont have an excuse for not talking to me before Uni, oh boy, you got loads of explanation to do.

Come home improved, at the way things are going, i wont be seeing you for another 1.5 years. oh well, then we shall chill out. ;)

Laprascopy baby! yeah! something not even doctors can do!

i did it! haha. yeah, i participated under a research in laproscopy by a Doctor/ Lecturer from our college itself. In a nearby hospital.

Day 1: A questionnaire on ourselves and things we do and a First Test immediately after watching a video

Day 2: Read a manual (for me and Yvonne) and then practice for an hour.

My learning, part 1

Guys, it may look easy, but it requires practice. After a few times, i hit 3 minutes. :) which i think its pretty good already.

Part 2

Day 3: Exam.
After the exam, The Dr incharge of research (nice guy, and good looking too,ladies) commented "good, very good actually.*pats back, with a honest smile* you can become a surgeon, you intrested?? potential. " and then i went "err, thanks dr, im keeping my options open still dr, but i am considering that too" he replied "good good"

as me and another senior student left, "thank you guys, you did very well, you both did very well actually. consider a future in surgery"

And it was very nice of them to give us a thumb drive as a token of appreciation. :)
All in all, one great experience... :)

And Today! is YiYun's birthday! Happy Birthday Yi Yun! we made her take part in Our Treasure hunt the whole evening, putting make up on her at each check point, no Not to make her look good, but the oposite- Bad! hehe. Evil we are, indeed. Hope we gave her a good Birthday so far... :)

yes dad, on your bday when i skyped you, you said that my writing has improved alot, and that you were quite surprised yet impressed and that the improvement is most likely due to my blogging... so i just thought id write on something i havent yet, a poem. :) Sorry if it made your heart skip beats while reading it (yes, mum, to you too). Not to worry, Veins are my only love and it will only be that. ;) hehe.
